A look back at healthcare and how it all came to be.
With the rise of modern medicine, rural country doctors who sold their services for a chicken, were themselves on the chopping block. Doctors now, had to know something about diseases and germs and what medicines cures them. This lead to a significant change in stature and prestige. That change in stature led to a dramatic increase in what doctors charged, what hospitals charged and thus, medical costs in general. By 1920, the need for hospitals to be certified and accredited and Doctors licensed was well established.

Agricultural biodiversity is the first link in our food chain and contributes to the security of our food resources. Food security is simply the availability to have food on your table. Understand that any influence, good or bad, on our agricultural biodiversity has impact, in some form and fashion toward somebody’s food security. Like Oil, those who control the source, will manipulate supply to maximize profit. Those who are able to control what seeds are used, what herbicides are used, control the market.

Why is the state of our Economy a surprise. You’ll be surprised why it’s not to some.
I can’t help but believe most of the answers lie significantly in the fact that the players in Washington’s political world and the players in the Wall Street Corporate world are often one and the same. The fact that influential politicians find a lucrative second career setting on Corporate boards that are often interlocked make me question where their loyalties lie. This fact also makes me question the validity of the bailout bill. Whose income and interests are they protecting, mine or theirs?

Our American Soul
Is it possible to have a National Soul?
Hazarding a guess, I think our National Soul is not defined, cannot be described by religious beliefs simply because it is not a living, breathing entity. That said, our soul is defined in human terms in way of our actions. Not necessarily our political actions or our moral outcries, but our daily actions at an individual level. Every time I open my mouth, write an article or hold a door open for someone, I am embodying the American soul. I give credence to the belief that our Nation has not only worth and value, but a living, breathing soul. The American Soul is a quiet one by nature and dwells in the simplicity of mankind, in the core beliefs that reside without the need of morals and religion, without the need of politics and entertainment. It is that fundamental core that gave rise to the Constitution as well Religion and such things as morality and ethics. Our nature is simply the desire to try to do what is right.

The Long Hard Truth of the Matter
A reality check when it comes to laying blame for our economic crisis.
Our economic troubles began at the local level, this too is a unspeakable truth that we do not hear. Our troubles began with City Governments allowing vast tracts of land to be developed without asking who will buy these houses and instead looked at Tax revenue and plunged those numbers in their annual budgets. When local citizens asked, ‘Who will buy these houses?’, they were ignored. When no one came to buy, local banks found a way out by offering up dreams to those who were in no financial position to dream. Just as it is true in the housing market, so is it true of other issues. Much of the cost of Health Care can be attributed to what is known as the Medical Arms Race at the local level. Look around your community and count the number of medical facilities and services. In many Communities, we have isolated the poor into apartment complexes clustered in a specific part of town, turning that section into a virtual prison for the poor, with no hope of redemption, no hope of escape and many of us have the despicable gall to blame the poor and yet, the poor too, are accountable for their lives.

JDBs-Scam and Scum
There is, what I consider a, a despicable scam being perpetuated and it is completely legal. I know because I’m currently trying to untangle the financial mess it’s created.
Along comes a company that buys my account, along with thousands of others totaling millions and millions of dollars except they don’t pay millions and millions of dollars. They pay pennies on the dollar for each account. So to buy my account of $9,000.00 they maybe paid a thousand, but probably only a couple of hundred. This company then turns around and tells me, I have to pay the full nine grand.

A Dream is a Simple Thing
Really, it’s only a dream
I dream of a Nation I shall never see. A far off land across the abyss of time, to where I can do nothing but help build the foundation of a bridge over which the masses of humanity will one day walk. It is a Nation that many do not want and for every stone that is laid, they will remove two. In their fear, they will destroy a magnificent potential that humanity exhibits on an occasional glimpse. Those who fear change, who fear loss of what and who they are and what they have, propagate a myth that humans can never cross the bridge because we are too frail, to consumed with our own personal egos and individual agendas. That true equality will never exist because our hearts, our souls, while capable of noble ambitions, are not capable of the toil and dedication that our ambitions require.
